Here are pictures and tidbits from the last three weeks:
He laughs and laughs the whole time he's swinging!
We celebrated my grandma's 81st birthday. She loves pigs! It was her nickname when she was little, and now she collects pig figurines and pig stuffed animals, and there are pigs all over her house! So I made her a pig cake!
You can see where Ila stuck her finger in!
Some happy pictures of Ila and James from the end of April:
Two Sundays ago, we devoted the entire day to dewberries! Man oh man, do I love dewberry season!
It goes:
1. Easter
2. Christmas
3. Dewberry Season
We spent over two hours picking them at our old house. Eden worked really hard and filled up her bowl. Ila... well more went into her belly than into her bowl! She would pick for ten minutes and end up with only four dewberries in her bowl. Then Dustin would drive us on the ranger to a new location. She would get out and pick for another ten minutes, and when she was done, she would have two dewberries in her bowl! Hahahaha!
After all of our hard work, we came home and spent the afternoon making a dewberry pie and dewberry muffins. I also froze a bunch to make some jelly in the future, and we still had enough to keep in the fridge and eat for over a week!
Towards the end, Ila asked me to help her, so I filled her bowl up for her.
Our pie only lasted about two days, and sadly the muffins are already gone too. Man, they were delicious for breakfast with some butter slathered on! Mmmmmm...
And in very, very, very exciting news, we got KITTENS! Eden and Ila's swim teacher's cat had a litter, and I let Eden and Ila each pick one out. Meet Moana (the calico, Eden's, named for Disney's Moana obviously) and Tiger (the orange one, Ila's, named for Daniel Tiger).
Marshall and I each got a kitten when we were just about Eden and Ila's age, and those cats were the biggest part of our childhood. They slept with us, played with us, have appearances in tons of our childhood photos... In fact, those cats didn't die until I was grown and married. (PJ actually died ON my wedding day, which was drama!) I hope Eden and Ila make the same wonderful memories with Moana and Tiger that Marshall and I did with Tommy and PJ.
This past week, the school had an awards ceremony. Check out this video. My girl RACKED UP the awards! As soon as it was over, I called both my mom and my dad to tell them how it went, and my dad said, "Dang! Were there any awards left for the other kindergarteners?" Haha! Yes... Eden didn't get the award for music, math, or Spanish... but she got every other subject! YOU GO GIRL!
These videos of Ila and James aren't from the past few weeks. Ila's is from December, and James's is from January, but they keep popping up in my videos, so I figured I'd share them because they're adorable!
And one last picture from this week. A sweet picture of my Ila-gator:
